My son's girlfriend came over today, very upset. Someone side wiped her 2015 Nissan Altima, she had it polished, but there is slight damage to the left rear wheel arch. Repairs quoted are not cheap. So here I am with this '04 XJ bought recently for a pittance, aluminum, leather, real wood, v8, not a four banger, and parked next to the Nissan that gets no respect. Yes, I expect repair challenges. But the bitter irony is that if somebody were to destroy my toy I can easily afford to go out and buy more aluminum, leather, and wood, and never never a dissed Nissan, not if I have to lay in a puddle of oil. Therein is the end of the story on father's day.
