Default Black Window Trim for x350

Does anyone know of a source where I could purchase black window trim surrounds? My chrome / stainless is hazy and I really like the look of the black trim. I believe the European version of the XJR came with black trim (below).
Any sources in the US?

Ditto. Why it determined that the US must have chrome trim every where?

Black has been an alternative on 'Sport' and 'R' models in Europe going back to the X300. Originally on the X300, the standard chrome/stainless trims were factory refinished with satin black as on my X300 here:

On later models, the black trim base is steel or aluminium with a primer and finished in satin black like the XK8 in my SigPic.

There have been many complaints about the black finished trims on a number of later models. The problem is the paint bubbling due to inadequate priming.

You could be better off staying with the chrome/stainless trims and having them polished.

reyesl, Looks like in your sig pic that your window trim is black. How did you do it?

I think what you see is the door frame, it is black and along with the tinted windows and white body, the trim blends in and appears black.

I am thinking of using a black wrap such as this:

QuikCat, if you are referring to the front windshield trim, then you might be out of luck. Jag used a "chrome" trim piece around the windshield for 2004 model XJ's, and if I remember correctly, completely removed that trim either for the start of 2005, or sometime during the 2005MY.

I've worked with vinyl wrap and I can tell you it would be difficult to get it to stick to the edges of the trim. My son and I have wrapped a hood and various trim pieces inside his car, and if there are any compound curves, it is difficult to get it to stick. Using a heat gun helps, but unless you wrap it all the way under the trim, I'm guessing it would start to lift.

I wonder how much a UK dealer would charge to ship to the U.S. if I were to order the trim pieces from an authorized dealer?
