Bluetooth (again) in a 2005 Super V8
Just got my first Jaguar, a 2005 Super V8, a couple of weeks ago. The prior owner dissuaded me from adding bluetooth calling it "clumsy" and "more trouble than it's worth." Perhaps he is right but I live in a "hands free" state and would like the convenience.
I've read mostly about cars that had no voice control and the parts they needed. Right now, my car says "Phone not fitted." What parts do I need? I already have voice control and thus the microphone. There seem to be a lot of PSE parts and bluetooth modules but I do not know what is right for my car. Is this something I can do at home?
I tried pulling the left side interior out where the stack is only to put a small crack in the carpeting's plastic support. The hope was to ascertain if there was a PSE module already.
After that crack sound, I stopped what I was doing. I knew I'd just break something else.
Help?

If you get the "Phone not Fitted" message it is very likely you do not have the PSE and/or the bluetooth module. Since you have Jaguar voice you already have the microphone:
PSE Module - 1X43-19K350-AE
Bluetooth - 2W93-14B409-AE
Both these part numbers can be had with AB -AE endings, I think the -AD part numbers while not the latest should still work (at least that is my hope since I have one in my lap destined for my car sometime this summer)
The PSE or phone module is mounted in the trunk stack as you suggested. You may need a different wiring harness and/or optical leads depending on how your car was originally equipped. Don't have the part numbers here, was just planning to call Nalley for help when the time comes. The Bluetooth module goes under the armrest.....good luck.

Abacab, you are not missing anything. The bluetooth is expensive addition on the Jag. Works fine though.
You will also need a new optical harness for the trunk, a microphone and a voice module pass-trough. The last two items are inexpensive.
You can scout eBay or local junkyards for a PSE module. Modules from X-Type, or S-Type would work: 1x43-19k350-A? or 2R83-19k350-A? or 2w93-19k350-A?, make sure the last letter is D or above. Some -AC versions work, but are hit and miss.
There are alternative aftermarket bluetooth solutions for about $150 or less, you may want to consider those as well.

You should have rear entertainment so just try this:
Griffin GC17090 AUX Cable with Handsfree Microphone
and
Steren - Audio coupler - mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm (F) - mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm (F) - black
These two items cost me about $15.
You also will need RCA to 3.5 mm cable which is just a few Dollars. I got everything thru Amazon but local Electronic stores may have them as well.
I was looking for a Bluetooth solution as well but this is much better. Now I have my mp3s, satellite radio thru app, and my hands free for a few Dollars.

Does anyone happen to know if the bluetooth module can be fitted to a 2004 X350?
My car currently has neither bluetooth nor a PSE and I was wondering if it is actually supported as the installation instructions for the adaptor from Jaguar say that it is from VIN G45171 whereas mine is G384xx
I wonder whether that is PSE driven or something in the firmware of another module?

Thanks for the reply. I have been doing more research in the meantime and it looks like the wiring loom is physically different before that VIN so it is possible to fit bluetooth but it would mean gutting the car to change a large piece of the main wiring loom.
