What a difference new rubber can make. The road noise is gone, along with the shimmy and wheel hop and everything else bad.
I decided not to worry about any damage to rims or any other hazzards which can befall the vehicle while in the shop, and, just walked next door and enjoyed the stuffet at Pizza Inn.
Had a blissful ride home except for the lousy drivers clogging up the left lane, and the ridiculous Oklahoma Highway Patrol, out there shooting radar, menacing the public, as they provide a service NO ONE WANTS!
ABOLISH THE HIGHWAY PATROL! Sell those radar guns and dodge "chargers" to some other state that wants to be broke,
kill tourism and instill road rage!

What a coincidence! I purchased a set of the 18" P Zero Nero's last week for $146/tire. I am very pleased with the tires after 200 miles. The unbalanceable, noisy ContiProContacts got on my last nerve, and after I noticed a gash in the sidewall of the front tire, I could finally justify a new set.
Road noise is far less, the ride is more compliant, yet they grip the tarmac as well or better than the Conti's. The sidewall is stiffer than the Conti's, so I assume the car will go through the curves better.
Yesterday, I took the car to Jaguar for a supplemental oil change and had the tires rebalanced since there was a shimmy in the steering wheel (the tire joints are in to quick turnover time and not a job well done). The dealership has the latest Hunter machine and they were eager to try it out. Let me tell you, the Jag has the best ride since buying it 3 years ago.
If you read the owner's manual, Jaguar recommends Continental ContiProContact, Pirelli P Nero, and Michelin Pilot Sport as the best tires for our cars. It's good to know that I am following orders from Coventry!
