Default Brakes. V1 Rotors?

Im about to replace all my rotors and pads on the 2004 XJR. I found what looks like a good deal (maybe too good) on ebay for a front and rear set with ceramic pads for only $175.00..... The brand is called V1Specs. Ive never heard of them and was going to see if any of you have or heard anything about them. I Dont know how faulty they could bee since brake rotors arent really that intricate, but the cheapness is suspicous. i have used R1 Rotors on my old camaro and they were good ive just never heard of this V1Specs stuff.

Be wary of drilled rotors
I recommend going slotted or std rather than slotted/drilled or drilled

Haven't seen that brand but can recommend the R1 rotors teamed with red stuff pads

Cheers

I wouldn't run those V1spec rotors if you gave them to me for free...yuck...

Have a look at R1 Concepts, brakeperformance.com or Centric "High Carbon"

As far as I know they are all the same blanks, and they have the black electro-coating over the bells & inside the vanes, so they DO NOT RUST.

Those plain un-coated rotors will look like crap in no time...

+1 on don't bother with drilled, go for plain or if you want more "performance" then get slotted.

Good ceramic pads with the high-carbon rotors are the way to go. I have the R1 Concepts slotted rotors on my XJR with EBC Yellowstuff pads, and the plain Centric High Carbon with EBC Redstuff on my Land Rover; very low dust output and they stop very well.

I did A LOT of research for my 04 XJR and my 05 XJR and I have to agree with 34by151. I have a set of slotted on my list up upgrades and not drilled/slotted. If you look at my garage and click on "Betsy", she's the 04 XJR, you can see my personal plan and that's after MANY hours of research, reading user reviews, reading professional reviews, and actual comparisons. Cambo was right on the money s well! Can't argue with facts from those who came before us. That's my $0.02

Rags
