Default brushless aux water pump option

Good day,

My stock aux water pump is worn out doesnt work anymore.

Looks like 01 durango's used a sort of similar aux water pump along with other vehicles.

I went and found this brushless motor, I'll be installing it on my 04 xj8.

Wish me luck 44 bucks shipped.. We will see how this goes hah!

Right on paper it says it won’t fit, the mount is different but I’m assuming the hose size is the same. I’ve built a couple of cars in the past and have done custom work so that is not scaring me off.

anyway will keep you all posted.

I am always interested in learning something new, how do you tell that your Auxiliary Pump is failing; what are the symptoms, please?

Lack of heat, is a big one, but not the only one.
The 07 had no heat at all, when i went to look at it, back in Dec of 17.
They put a new one in, giving me plenty of heat.
It helped the 04 a lot less, but it did help some.

This pump does work.

I cut off and soldered in the new wiring for it as the harness is different.

Very simple.

Worst part was going to Ace Hardware and getting a brass reducer as the fitting for the hose is slightly different compared to the oem hose.

I then got 5/8" hose from Advance auto (size of this pump's outlet and inlet) and worm screw hose clamped it up. All worked.

Mounting is not going to fit like it used to on the radiator, but I used a zip tie or 2 and all is good.

The brushless pump *should* last longer than the brushed motor. My oem motor was dead.

Hope this helps, I will try and remember to get the exact brass fitting I bought tonight so you all can see.

Good find, for a nice adaptation, to make things work for you.

Here is the adapter plug that I got in a pinch from ACE hardware. You will need 2 of these (one for inlet one for outlet) and 5/8" heater hose if I remember correct. Makes the transition perfectly.
