Another issue (gulp) could be a faulty JV Module. That being said I'm going to put my money on incorrect wiring connection.

 

I got to the menu under NAV and all units were enabled. Pressing AM/FM+Eject did not work for me.

You've done all the hard work, I'd take it into the dealer and let them work out the software and communication part of it. Hopefully its an easy fix, and small expense. There are a couple options listed in the setup screen of the car in the SDD/IDS software that can be enabled where the voice is shown.

 

Yeah, you're probably right. One of the members asked for the part number of the voice module so here it is.

I took the R to the dealer. After contacting the Hot Line the Tech. discovered that the car's configuration file was incorrect causing the VACM to not see the phone.

All is well now. BTW this voice option is cool. Nothing you can't do manually of course but a neat toy and it does keep your head "out of the cockpit".

ahh, that is a rare occurrence, thanks for closing out your thread with the outcome and solution.

 

More module confusion for me. What is the correct part XR8-49645 or 28RF-14B292-AD?The JPEC says XR8-49645 but I see a lot of references to the 28RF-14B292-AD. There is a very large price difference in these so any guidance would certainly be appreciated.

 

The XR8 module is the voice module. Try checking out ebay/wreckers for a good price. I got mine for ~$300

Hey if you have a min, I just order the JV Module 2R8F-14B292-BD on ebay, I went to order the (HARNESS CABLE) Come to find out the dealer don't have them and can't order them anymore. So i found a used one on e-bay. What I need help with is the order of the ring, I'm worry about that part don't want to clash the systems. I did install the phone module, blue tooth and mic in the car back in Dec so I been back there before just don't want do mess up anything now.

The DB Link Cable has yellow tags that correspond to each component connection.

 

@vacmail,

Don't worry too much about the D2B ring order even if you mess it up, nothing is going to burn, just re-wire it. Btw. you can disassemble the D2B ring connectors the wires can be detached from the connector, so you can make you ring longer if you have a spare optical cable.

 

I have a spare cable i can dissassemble if anyone needs parts to add a loop. Just PM me.

Thanks for all the help will keep you posted on the out come. The good part about this after this go around I will have 2 sets of D2B cable that i will not need. Note my first posts and what the dealer say about these cables. If anyone in the forum is in need of C2C 14162 - for CD and Nav, PM me. I will not have the other one ready until the new one comes in. That is the C2C 14165 that for CD,Nav and phone as much as i would like to give this one away the dealer cost was over 300.00. But if someone is in need of it, I will give you a great deal.

Here's a pic of the Voice Module 2R8F-14B292-BD & the Phone Module2W93-19K350-AC . Just going by the company name and address. I will say that going by the tracking info the mailman tried to drop that off Saturday but you had close for the day.

I found one across the water it was a little more than what I wanted to pay but, I had already order the cable that came from across the water also. The dealers and on-line parts houses said I was out of luck. And they did not know when they would be available again.

OK the D2b cable and the Voice unit came in at the same time, everything went great until I seen that I had a one too many D2b ends. Thank you gmcgann for posting the order of the loop. I had to remove one of the ends to complete the D2B loop. Now the hard part is getting train on using voice.
