can i replace these bushings?
greetings. while i was walking to my car today, i noticed just behind and rearward of the rear brake rotor, a suspension assembly part, thinn rod going to center of car, rubber bushings at the outboard side, just aft of the rotor. what is it and what does it do? i looked at the assembl, looks like a big bolt and nut holding a set of rubber bushings and another metal rod. can i replace these by them selves or are they part of a more complicated assembly? appears that i can easily get to it if i remove the rear wheel first. any information is appreciated. wm

Re: Bushing Replacement
1st it's best if you provide pics of the component in question!
2nd poly (sports) bushings are difficult to find for the jaguar models; you would have to obtain exact circumference specs then attempt to do a best match / fit! These are NOT BMW's where these types of replacement bushings are commonly available.
I assume YOU ARE familiar with the Removal & Pressing processes and have the proper tools (& a lift) available hand BEFORE you attempt to do so!
Depending on the actual component(s) you are referencing, don't forget the possibility / probability of an alignment upon completion else the offset will transfer uneven wear to other locations & your tires.
And as a matter of habit I would recommend component(s) servicing in sets (L&R) to ensure a evenly distributed life cycle.... (saves time & money in the long run).
Be certain to order OEM replacement parts & save yourself the headache
