I had read about the rear light access done by feel alone and was hoping I might get a glimpse of the RR corner one to see how it attaches
Does the parking aid sensor just pull out from the back? Can you push it out from the front? Do you twist it or just pull straight? I don't see any retaining clips in the workshop manual drawings and I don't want to break a high $$$$ clip since I learned that the little head light washer clips are $80 each.
Maybe I can get to it Sunday or Monday when the weather is supposed to be warmer for lying on cement. I'll try to take photos.

You said,"...The info I had said to push and twist the sensor out (xk8), but this was not the case... There are clips on each side of the sensor that can be moved away from the sensor with a flat screw driver. No twist, no spring; just open the clips and pull sensor out."
Do you have any photos of the clips you mentioned? I tried to get a closer look at the photos in the link, but got a black screen when I clicked on any of them.
I see two little angled projections about 120 degrees apart on the body of the used sensor I bought on eBay; is that where the clips hold it in? There is also a little protrusion further down the body opposite those two which looks to be a location key to keep it from turning. (pics of projections below)
Too bad the drawings in the manual show none of this. I miss the old days of Chilton and Haynes manuals when they dismantled an example of your particular model and year of car and took photos as they went and actually told you how to unfasten little things like this.

The problem is that there is more than one style of clip.
I removed the bumper and the clips looked very delicate.
If you break one you will need to find a replacement and glue
a plastic clip on to a plastic bumper.
You may need to replace more than one sensor depending on your symptoms.

My bad sensor is the right rear according to both the i930 and the cracks in the bumper cover on that corner where an unknown someone backed into it. I thought it should be covered by my comprehensive insurance with a $100 deductible, but the Farm Bureau claims it is collision with a $1K deductible even if the car was not occupied or moving at the time of the damage.
I wish I'd paid more attention when I had the front bumper cover off, but I was more concerned with the three coolant pumps at the time.
