Default Can you rebuild an air strut yourself?

I was wondering if anyone has rebuilt the front air struts themselves and how hard it was. Barring any special tools, I don't see why this couldn't be done.

Anything is possible if you have the tools, parts, and expertise.

has anyone answered the air strut rebuild question? I have a 2004 XJR front strut made a popping sound and would assume I could replace the rubber parts.

Now replacing one shock assembly with Arnott rebuilt unit. Curious about rebuilding for the future. Also had a tough time removing the lower shock bolt. T60 Torx fitting, but it also required heat to loosen the bolt to remove. Old bolt very rusted and trying to locate replacement, prior to putting it back on the road.
