Yes it was made in Taiwan!
Dismantled jack and removed O ring but did not have new one to fit.
I had 5 thou brass shim (it belonged to my late father) so I cut it to fit groove behind O ring.
No more leaks-hopefully good for another 45 years!
BTW
You may have read kalboon's post about fitting two layers of duct tape to
the piston on his air compressor which has solved the problem with a worn
piston seal so as a matter of interest I measured the thickness of duct
tape and waddya know it's 5 thou.
I don't think I am going to need Andy's seal kit.
