Default Catalytic joint repair ADVICE NEEDED

I know at some point i will need to replace the ends of the cats. The question is with which type of repair. 1 A new joint which incorporates flexible neck joint or 2 Just a joint without the flexible neck.
Has anyone used either?

You can pick LH and RH flexible neck joint for £235 or solid for £180. The cats are bolted to the gearbox so i see no reason for movement at the manifold connection, is it the flexible joint stops vibration down the tubes following this fix it should fail again at a future date!

Do i go for solid joint and then it should last ?

ADVICE NEEDED

This is a job i am planing to do before one fails. I have Just changed the transmission oil and pan filter. No smell of gas when under car completing that job when the baby was running checking and sorting oil level in the transmission. Looked all OK
