P1111 is a good code. It means your monitors have completed.

Hi Goldgun,
Generic OBDII scanners can read the Powertrain (P-prefix) codes like your P1111, but as abonano said, the codes triggered by the air suspension and CATS are proprietary Jaguar Chassis (C), Body (B) or Network (U) codes that can only be read by systems with that capability, such as the dealer-level IDS or SDD systems, or certain high-end third-party systems such as AutoEnginuity with the Jaguar enhancement. You might call independent shops in your area that service European vehicles to see if one has a system capable of reading these codes. If not, a dealer may be your best option.
You can also try carefully disconnecting the electrical connectors at the top of each air spring/shock absorber assembly, inspecting the small pins inside the connector and checking the wiring for any signs of damage. Carefully reseat the connectors and see if things improve.
For a description of how CATS works, see the link below. Technically, Jaguar calls it ECATS in the X350, but the warnings on the instrument cluster still show up as CATS (go figure).

2004 XJ8 Cats System Fault problem
have a 2004 XJ8 32000 miles,Cats System Fault Light always on and off and sometimes stays on for a while,ride is a bit rough,no other fault lights and car does not appear low or uneven,really considering coil conversion before putting money into this faulty system any thoughts

I wish we could be more helpful, but without DTCs we can only guess as to what may be causing your issue. You might explain to the local Jaguar dealer that all you really need for them to do is to scan the car for DTCs. If they are unwilling to do even that, I would suggest you call Jaguar North America and ask for their intervention with your local dealer.
Another possibility is to post in the appropriate Regional forum to see if there may be a forum member in your area who has the necessary Jaguar diagnositic system (IDS, WDS or SDD) and might be willing to meet you somewhere mutually convenient and scan your car. The reason the ride feels rough is that the default mode of the dampers/shock absorbers is Firm. In the post at the link I gave earlier, I explain how the dampers are changed from Firm mode to Comfort mode.
An electrical issue is likely, but the air suspension system is sufficiently complex that codes could save countless hours in diagnostic guesswork. Until you can have the codes scanned, you might try inspecting, cleaning and re-seating all the electrical connectors in the system, as well as cleaning all the ground points referenced by the system. Albert: My personal opinion is that the coil/spring suspension is superior to the air suspension in many respects. In fact, it really doesn't make sense to me why anyone would prefer the air suspension systems if even the dealers still can't figure out what's wrong with them. Beyond that, while the air suspension systems do well on rough surfaces, they can't handle the larger bumps on the road well at all. For all intents and purposes, the coil/springs will provide a very comfortable ride, and a more enjoyable one. You would want to pick up the Arnott Coil/Spring Conversion Kit (Part No. C-2745), and I would strongly recommend having a qualified service shop install them. In total, the coil/spring conversion itself will run around $3,000, but it would be money well spent. Since I had my 2005 Jaguar XJ8L converted over to Arnott coil/springs four years ago, I have never looked back. In fact, due to all of the negative feedback, Jaguar has since equipped their newer models with coil/springs in the front while leaving the air shocks in the back. Personally, I would had omitted the air shocks in the back altogether.

Have you found that the iCarsoft i930 JLR will read the proprietary Jaguar B, C and U codes in addition to the P codes?
I was searching online for the answer to that question and came across this video showing that the Autel MD802 scanner will read Jaguar B, C, U and P codes and it appears to be similar in price to the iCarsoft:

Yes, my iCarsoft i930 scanner can read Jaguar B, C, P and U codes and can reset DTCs on my 2007 XJR. It works on Jaguars and Land Rovers and the Jaguar side includes entries for Model Years (MY) from 1993 up to and including 2015. I did not check the Land Rover MY range. It works on my 2007 XJR X350 and includes a separate entry for the XJ MY 2006-2007, which I'm assuming is Jaguar's X356 internal MY. I have not tried it on any other model or MY, but maybe some of the other forum users have experience with it. Hope this information can help others.
