Default To/From Chassis G49700/G49701

Buying some parts for my 06 XJ and it seems a lot of listings show either "To Chassis G49700/G49701" or "From Chassis G49700/G49701". Simple enough, I assume this is referring to the VIN number? With my VIN being SAJWA79B56SH07097 I assume my car is the later version having an 'H" as the 12th digit?

Just want to make sure I have this correct and order the correct parts. Thanks in advance.

Hi 87LC2,
your interpretation is correct, Jaguar always refers to the last 6 digits of the VIN.
Best regards,
Thomas

Excellent, thank you. Not only can I now order the correct parts, but it confirms it's the updated chassis as well (x356 I believe). Thank you. Have only had the car for a few days now and already love it.

You're welcome.
Yes, looking at the pictures of your car, it seems to be the interim model called X356.
Although mine is an early one (G20252), I think that the X356 is the most sensible choice, as it has some technical improvements in comparison to the earlier versions and as personally, I do not like the aesthetics of the X358. In my opinion, the revised bumper covers make the car look too heavy.
Best regards,
Thomas

That is good news, thank you for confirming. I think the differences are minimal and I would not have turned down an early car but this one just happened to come along. I think the most intriguing differences from what I've read are the electronics updates which is always good news.

I agree on the x358. Nice car, but a bit over-the-top styling wise for me. I prefer the simple lines of the earlier cars.
