While replacing the rear suspension on my XJR, I noticed a bit of a bulge in the left rear brake line.
The right rear was smooth and not black like the left one. I ordered a new left line to be safe.
My new brake line finally came in. It was out of stock in the US and had to be ordered from England. Thanks to COVID-19, it took about 3 weeks to get it.
I switched out the lines today and cut the plastic sheathing off the old line to see what was going on with it.
Yeah, that would have lasted right until the scene of the crash!
New line is in and looking pretty. It should for how much it cost!
Also of note, I had to reuse the old banjo bolt. My car has Brembos and apparently the banjo bolt that comes with the new line is meant for the newer version of the brakes and the bolt is slightly longer.

Lucky you caught it before it popped.I'll be checking mine this weekend to see what condition they are in.
Looking good!!!!!
Goodridge makes the flex type lines for our Jaguars, as well as for motorcycles, & other car mfg's..
They sell all the lines sizes & fittings to make whatever type of lines you might need.
They also make them small enough to fit inside of the handle bars on motorcycles.
Hides the lines from sight, gives a much cleaner look on bikes with no visible brake, & clutch lines.
Their lines & fittings can be taken apart, & reused, the way their made, a very nice option.
When & if i have to replace my lines, i'll use the flexible ones, to make things much easier to construct
