Clamp on air shock?

I am looking at a couple of XJRs as I will be purchasing one with the next week or two. One is the S version, but I have some concerns. One of the pictures shows the front of the car very low. He claims the air suspension is adjustable and that's just how he had it set. Yeah, right.
When I questioned him, he says he used a clamp on the air shock to lower the car, but that one of the front shocks also had to replaced. Pictures taken today show the car at normal height. Says he has receipts for the work.
So my question is: are there really clamps like this? Do they do any harm?

the front AIR SHOCKS are bad and leaking down and i would also thing about the fact that if the shock had been leaking for some time and it was not repaired then the air compressor may also be overused trying to keep up. if the front shocks are replaced and it is sitting level you maybe ok.

The suspension is adjustable, because the height sensors have to be set electronically using Jaguar software that dealers have, or download from Jaguar. Essentially front and rear are set by telling the system when the correct ride height has been acheived; the system will then keep the car to the set height from then on.
Before buying, check what suspension unit has been used to replace the Jaguar one. Jaguar originals have switchable shocks, (soft - hard), for the CATS system (Computer Active Technology Suspension). A lot of owners replace the Jaguar shocks with aftermarket items, but if you do this, you may lose the CATS system, which needs all four shocks to be switchable to work properly. It depends on what aftermarket item has been fitted.
The XJR is a high-performance car, and if it was me, I would not like to lose the CATS system.
