Clock Lamp / Light Is Out / Not functioning
#21
Not around these parts, i broke down & called the dealer.
No longer available, i was told the same with the clock.
Found a clear one for a Land Rover, from a vender in Ohio.
Looks like it should fit, if so i'll order another, the shipping is free.
The bulb was almost $12, so the cost is the same either way

Comes in a set of five.
You can find them here.
Here it is without the bulb cover and compared to the factory.
Here it is with the bulb cover installed.
Looks great, but I don't know how they compare to factory.
I had to buy 5 of each, but now I have lights for the foreseeable future and probably for near the price of a single factory bulb.

I bought my '08 in December and the clock light was out, has been bugging me ever since. I just put the console back together this afternoon and have the following observations:
1There is a special place in hell reserved for the guy who invented the electrical connector that requires 2 hands tho disconnect it, and that same place has a spot for the guy who thought it was a great idea to stuff a 2 handed connector into a dashboard hole where even one of my hands has a hard time squeezing in.
2. I followed an excellent pictorial guide on this forum but didn't see anywhere a description of exactly how the surround comes away from the dash in order to remove the console completely so was hesitant to push/pull/twist too hard and break something. The photo shows the fasteners. rear of console needed to be close to the roof and then it pulled away with a sharp tug.
3. I pre-ordered the bulbs from O'Reiley auto Parts and the bulb fit fine, but looked wrong not being green. I painted mine with stained glass paint from a craft store, and it's pretty close, but now that I discovered how to order the green condoms, I will have them soon, and will do it all again, but not until nicer weather. I tried to get the condom off the old one but it was glued on, so fractured badly when I tried.

Nice set of pictures, with advise about the removal of the console.
Really requires a bit more prestige, than i thought it would.
You bugger things up, & you will look at as long as you own the car.
Or have to buy a replacement to forget about it.
Appreciated by me & anyone wanting replace the bulb
