Default code reader

Wondered if anyone in the Monterey Bay area has a code reader that is more capable than the basic obd2 one that I have? Would like to come and plug in to see if I can get a more in depth read on the codes that seem to be coming up.Thanks

It's a sane request. Pending anyone, just the codes and then looking them up in the Jaguar manuals that are on this site will get you a long way - they give not just the meaning but a list of known possible causes.

Thanks for the acronym list...if you can point me to where I can find the link to the jaguar code descriptions of possible causes, I'd be mighty appreciative. .

Hi Grio,

At the link below you can download the full version of the Jaguar X350 DTC Summaries manual that includes not only the common Powertrain (P) codes, but also the proprietary Jaguar Body (B), Chassis (C), and Network (U) codes:

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...03388427,d.cWw

Most generic OBDII can read most or all of the P codes, but to read the B, C and U codes requires a scanner or system capable of reading proprietary Jaguar Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). You might check with any independent mechanic shops in your area that work on European vehicles to see if they have a system such as AutoEnginuity with the additional Jaguar extensions.

Cheers,

Don
