Default Comfort to Sport shocks/struts?

I'm in the market for another XJ8/XJR since my last one got totaled (see my signature).

Since most of the XJ8s have the Comfort shocks, I'm curious if anyone has installed Sport shocks on their XJ8s, and if so, what's their impression?

Also curious of coilover conversion impressions. Does the ride remain "floaty" like with airshocks, or is it more BMW-like?

My '04 XJ8 came with the sports suspension and I'd have to say that sporty doesn't feel floaty at all. That said I just recently replaced the entire system with a set of Strutmasters coil-overs and they certainly AREN'T FLOATY !! They are slightly more abrupt when hitting an abrupt pavement change like rumble strips, etc., but they balance that out with a bit more response to steering inputs. The ride height with the coil overs is within about a 1/2" of the optimal ride height so they obviously were built for the XJ.

Thanks for the input. It's comforting to know the coil overs give more steering response, ala my past BMWs.
