Default Conventional Motor Oil????

Called my British shop for oil filter part number and I inquired about oil type used on the X358. I was flabbergasted when the tech said they use 5w30 conventional on these cars. He added that Jaguar does not require synthetic oil so they don’t use it. First of all….What??!!?? And second, is this true??

Please share your thoughts and let us know what filter (part#) and oil you use on your big cats!

Jaguar have an oil spec, which I'd follow.

(See the posts & doc on here / handbook etc.)

Considering the age of your car the oil specced has been superseded. Either SN or SP should work fine.
I maintain six vehicles. From a 2005 to a 2021. Use synthetic in all and change at 5000 mile intervals. The price difference is very small how.
Purchased the new Mobil 1 5w-30 SP at Costco last week. Was 6 quarts for 27.50. Conventional oil is over 20 USD.
