I have a 2004 XJ8 4.2/256 (294HP). The coolant expansion overflow tank cap has fallen apart. I can't find one to replace it. I would rather not replace the tank body unless I have to. You see these blue caps on almost all 2004 motors viewed online. I've tried to buy it and it always shows as discontinued. The part suggested as a substitute is the same as the radiator cap, and that doesn't work. Any ideas would be appreciated.

That's a windshield wiper fluid cap and they are available. Check Ebay.

 

I think you will find that is the windscreen washer fluid cap, ah abonano you beat me to it lol

 

Thanks guys for answering such a stupid question. I'm sure I'll have more. I can do anything on a wetland, stream, lake....almost nothing on a car or truck. Just getting started. Want to drive them, have to do it myself to make it economical. streamsaver.........
