Yes, they're mounted together in a combined frame but are easily separated out from each other as separate units. The spare combined used unit that I bought previously (from USA) is also like that, so i expect that the Australian one should be similar. The (new old stock) CD section that I bought recently also came as a separate unit.

It's that am/fm button in the existing unit in my car that doesn't seem to work.

Now this is making sense.

The separate CD/radio which you bought is for a car with navigation.

I think you will struggle to add the display section to a radio that was originally meant for navigation cars.

The official spare parts are "with Navigation" and "without Navigation" and for sure there will be software difference between them.

Ok, that makes sense. Do you happen to have any idea what the Part number is for the two different types of CD/radio modules? I will also go and check and confirm when I visit the car in the car hospital.... The car is having it's 10 year makeover currently.

There are dozens of part numbers for them, many revisions over the years...

Ok, maybe easier the other way around. I'll go get the part number and post it up here. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could see if you can figure out if I bought the wrong model. I would have expected the one with the Nav system to be a DVD reader though. One of those things about e-bay buys.... sigh...

Thanks

Hi Cambo, I stopped by at the car hospital after work and the number that I have on the unit is..... hmm.... there is no C2C number on it, just 2W93-18B876-BK and 020419, made in July 2004.

The other unit that I have that was bought previously and was working but has since broken down, has the numbers 2W93-18B876-AK and 020419, made in June 2003 . Basically the same except that it is a AK instead of a BK.

Does any of this make sense? Thanks

2W93-18B876-AK = C2C19688 = Radio/CD Except Navigation
2W93-18B876-BK = C2C19689 = Radio/CD With Navigation

The 2nd last digit is a variant type, the last digit is a revision version.

So for example the same variants but different revisions would be -AA, -AB, -AC, etc...

An example of -AA, -BA, -CA, -DA, etc are different variants, not the same function.

The difference in this case between -AK and -BK is they are different functionality, not revision.

Thanks Cambo. So it does look like the B version that doesn't seem to want to work with my display is meant for the Nav version and I need to look for an A version.... (please do correct me if I'm understanding this part numbering wrongly). Sigh...

I can't bring myself to breaking the B unit up for spare parts though since it's supposed to be new old stock....

back to the drawing board....

Yes it seems that way...

I think you need to find one of the following;

2W93-18B876-AJ = C2C16120
2W93-18B876-AK = C2C19688
2W93-18B876-AL = C2C22183
2W93-18B876-AM = C2C32555
2W93-18B876-AN = C2C34885
2W93-18B876-AP = C2C36126
