Dent Wizard / paintless dent removal and Aluminum Bodies ...
I have an odd dent or two high on the drivers door of my new-to-me 2006 XJR. The car is beautiful, but these are annoying. They must be repaired !
Does anyone have any experience with using any of the paintless dent removal franchises in working on dents in x350 bodywork? Maybe it's no big deal, which would be great ...
Thought I'd ask before finding out the hard way that, oops, it's a bad idea. Or not.
Thanks !

Hey guys, ok, so not over there and not on an aluminium body, but on an Audi A6........I had some paintless dent removal done also high on my doors and a few other pieces of work done.
I have to say I am meticulous about my car and these really bugged me EVERY time I saw it / washed it / dried it Argghghghhhhhh!!!
Anyway, these guys did their thing and after about an hour......Wow.....even I couldn't find the dents that were there

I've used paintless repair on a customer's car only once. It was not aluminum (02 XK8). The outcome was PERFECT! I really became a believer. If the paint isn't damaged or destroyed this is a very good way to go.
As said, I would assume aluminum would be easier than steel, and, I agree, if they cannot do it they'll tell you.

I had some dents removed from my trunk lid, the repair company said it is harder to repair aluminum because the alloy is less malleable than steel. That being said, they did the job and it is almost perfect. I can still see the spot when the light is just right, but in general, it is acceptable.

I have a "dent wizard" on call basically. Travis has been removing dents for a long time, when we first bought our S Type, I had Travis come out and remove some dings. He said ALUMINUM is MUCH HARDER to remove the dings because it does not have the memory of steel.
Before any dent dude touched your car I would ask them if they are experienced in ALUMINUM ding removal.
BTW Travis is very experienced and does a remarkable job with both aluminum and metal!

I've been a dent guy for over 15 years, and I can tell you that aluminum is much harder! That's not to say that it can't be done, but I would select your PDR guy very carefully, and be leery of the dealership dent guys, they usually are paid wholesale prices, and deliver wholesale quality.

The Dent wizard got rid of 90% of them.
He had a plastic rod and massaged the creases back.
