Difference XJ V8 Europe and USA?
#2
The ones I know:
In EU the nav has TV tuner (analog, not freeview).
HID headlights are bi-xenon (use a flap in the HID housing for low/high beams).
Some US models have ECU speed limiter set to 131 mph instead of 155.
In ROW models there is also some automatic air filtration system that is supposed to detect smog.
I would guess there are differences in the ECU programming to accomodate the different octane rating for the gasoline in the EU/US.

Something else interesting, looking through the EU brochure and the US for the SUper V8:
US 400 hp, 413 torque, 15.0 city/22.0 hwy mpg (I get about 24-26 mpg), 4006 lbs kerb
EU 395 hp, 541 torque, 23.4 city/32.3 hwy mpg, 3657 lbs kerb
I know there are different emissions standards but is this right?

Imperial Gallon is 4.54 litres while the US gallon is smaller at 3.78 litres. That would count for something. Dunno what accounts for the weight difference though, probably crash impact devices.

Good point about capacities, I had not considered that. And I figured that was a possible reason for the weight difference.
