Well, car is in with Prestige Jaguar today, dropped off at 8am this morning, so the dif is finally getting done!!
Just called for an update........seemingly had problems getting the driveshafts out, seized seemingly!
Anyhow, on with it now and the diff to come out and then all to be replaced, so should be collecting tonight.
I have asked if its possible to split the diff so I can take pics to see what sort of condition its in, I'm sure more than a few would like to see this, but unsure whether they will have the time, but fingers crossed.

Update
Well it looks like someone at the parts dept in Jaguar didn't check against the Vin number and sent out the wrong propshaft, they sent the std version as against the LWB as required for my car
So the new rear diff installed along with drive shafts etc and all ready good to go, but the propshaft is wrong, so will have to wait until the correct part is received tomorrow now!
This is the new upgraded version I've been informed and seemingly there is a tsb out for this.
Anyhow, pics of the car as is at the moment.......
Firstly, here's Dougie ( the owner and Mastertech 's ) toolbox......
Car on the lift....looking a little bare
Old diff removed.....
Old diff details....someone asked ratio's 3.07
New diff installed on the car....
New diff c/w drive shafts installed.....
Prop shafts old v new.....
I did ask if they could open up the old diff to have a look at, see where the issues are, take some pics etc but it is a no go I'm afraid.
New LWB prop shaft should arrive tomorrow in the am and car ready by around lunchtime.
I'm looking forward to picking her up and hoping for a quiet ride home.

Yes Graham, agreed on the parts delivery for sure.
The rubber jurid / doughnut wasn't great I was told. I was also informed that the new upgraded version does away with this and is a direct bolt on assy iirc
Just for the record, Prestige Jaguar are moving ( only about 4 units over, still in the same Ind Est ) on Saturday.
Myself, Rab ( Kingfisher ) and Peter ( Peteranne ) as well as my son Jamie are going along to help with the move.
Should be fun

Jim,
Good progress!
Does the reason for the "no go" due to restrictions related to exchanging the old diff for the new? Just curious.
Also, in the photo below, the left end of the new propshaft has a bright metal fitting that is different from the Jurid flexible coupling on the old propshaft. Are you saying that the Jurid will be eliminated altogether with the new propshaft?
Cheers,
Don

Yes thats part of it Don as far as I'm aware.
The other is the ludicrous time allowed for the removal / replacement, a mere 2.5 hours I'm told.
Looks like it should be more at least 5-6 hours??
Luckily he's making some money on the parts otherwise they really wouldn't be keen to take the job on

Yes, I'm told that the new upgraded / superseded version has this fixing as opposed to the jurid flexible coupling.
Thats what the man says!
Cheers,
Don

My JEPC from Nov 2013 shows three changes of prop shaft for the 2.7 TDi LWB.

Also be interesting to see how the Part Number on your replacement matches up with these P/N's.

Well, the car is back home now and all good
She is now as quiet as the proverbial church mouse, well......I may need to get new tyres as the road noise is now bugging me...lol
Thanks Prestige for a job well done and all for no pennies too!
I'll be seeing them on Saturday as I'm helping them with the move and hope to get all the necessary papework then, maybe even a copy of the tsb too.

Hi Graham, well spotted.
Dougie nearly had kittens about that, the warranty company would only pay for 2.5 hours for the complete job ( thats bearing in mind that they charge £50 per hour as against around £130 at Jaguar )
Its absolutely shocking and I would've thought at least double those hours myself. He consoled himself that he made some up on the parts I believe....
