Well I managed a 4 wheel drift getting onto an expressway in PA. Surprisingly it was very well controlled! I went into it a bit to fast..Everyone including my car came out AOK

You need no further proof that XJs are falling into the hands of a new and younger generation than this thread.

Too bad as it only accelerates the transformation of nice Jags to scrap. I feel so old and tired.

It would be fun though wouldn't it?

Jags have always been up for a bit of tyre screeching..........

It's quite stereotypical and foolish to assume that only the "younger generation" ruins cars as people have been driving cars like hooligans since they were invented.

That video is one of my favorites!
I would love to have a go sometimes (on a track), the only slides that I may have done have been purely accidental.

Not sure how it makes the car scrap, unless you crash it lol.

As much as I love my XJR its less of a luxury car than most would think. It rides rather rough, it has neck snapping torque and the seats are a bit on the less supple side. But I love it. if I wanted boat on wheels I'd likely own an older Lincoln or Cadillac. in my opinion anyone that owns an XJR wanted the performance it allotted at the sacrifice of luxury....And to me to opportunity to modify it a bit more and using it for what I feel it was intended to do isn't destroying it...Its enjoying it... If I wanted a nice smooth ride in be an xj8.. As for intentionally drifting....The one wheel peel doesn't help with that so much:O)

That much difference in ride quality between the XJ8 and XJR?
