Default Driver Door Locking Issue

I have a 2005 Jaguar XJ8L. When I attempt to lock the drivers door with the remote, it locks and unlocks about 3 times. This also occurs when attempting to lock the car from the central locking button located above the navigation beside the valet button and when shifting into drive or reverse. Here goes a link to a video I took that shows the problem.
What can I do to get rid of it? It’s getting very irritating as it happens pretty much every time the car is used.

When the problem occurs have a look to see if one of the internal door levers is not

moving and then replace the actuator in that door.

Hello.

I had this happen to 05 SV8.

Have you been able to narrow it down to which door is causing the issue?

You should be able to tell which door(s) lock and which one doesn’t by trying each external handle and internal door handle.

Likely, there will be a door that does not lock (or unlock) with the others...

When my car did this, I ended up buying an actuator which (luckily) was not needed.

For my issue, the cable which attached to the door handle was not attached properly. On the cable, there is a plastic ‘guide’ which was not affixed properly to the door, adding a bunch of ‘slack’ or ‘slop’ to the cable’s movement.

The ‘ball’ on the cable end affixes to the handle-in my case, that was fine.

Once the ‘guide’ was snapped in place, locking performed properly.

If you decide you need a rear door actuator, I have one...

Hope this helps.

My original post https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ements-154644/ describes the car’s behavior.

Apologies, I did not post the ‘fix’ nor did I upload pics to the original thread.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, The front passenger door does not lock. I’ll open it up and take a look. Do you happen to have instructions on how to remove the door panel? Also since the passenger door does not lock, do I open up the passenger door and check the cable?

Check this one too; user replaced actuator.

Also describes panel removal:
