Default driver door module fault

hi guys
driver door module on my 2005 xj6 has gone faulty i noticed prices are highish for used ones, the later s type door module has same pins
and looks identical but labels and numbers are different, anyone have knowledge on these ?
obviously i could buy one and try it , i have diagnostics with some programming but think not for the module, i can read the codes on it !
any info would be appreciated
thanks

What symptoms and codes do you have ?

You could look at the circuit diagrams for both models to see if they are the same

but I suspect that may not be fool proof.

Your faulty module may be repairable depending on the fault.

You will not need to program a replacement door lock.

I have a fault I assume is coming from the drivers door module where, I can lower all 4 windows, but both rear windows will not raise from the drivers door, they only lower, even when the switches are pulled to close the windows they still lower. I replaced the switch pack, but it made no difference, so I can only think it is either the module inside the door, or a wiring fault between the door and the body. All windows work as they should from their respective door switches, just not from the drivers switch pack.

A DDM would need to be reprogrammed since it is a major player in the security system. The switches act in parallel front and back without much DDM interference. Both supply ground to operate the windows. There is the rear isolate switch that inhibits some rear control.
Other than the switch pack connector the only wiring/connectors the rear windows have in common are DT6 and DD1.

i fitted a good s/h door module and used a local garage to scan it and reset immobiliser ie key in ignition turn on and off a few times etc whilst changing pages for info on the launch,,, he uses a late model launch diagnostic unit ..
i had programmed a new key and old key with my thinkcar2 which worked fine, but obvious DDM had a fault and was some corrosion to pc board on original ,
anyway i can lock and unlock the car now !, wouldent unlock before unless key had been inserted in ignition and removed !
so now onto replacing a few bits on rear suspension ..
anyone in kent needs help with a DDM ETC NEEDS PROGRAMMING ring steve on 01474 823919
