I have had the exact same problem as the OP for a about two years. It happened a single time at work in the parking lot and it freaked me out how it went into (what I now know is called) limp-mode. About six months later I had a couple more low speed occurances. It seemed to come when it was warmer outside than usual.

Then it has been happening more and more frequently. Some occasions are so bad that I have to sit there for 10 minutes turning ignition on and off until the faults clear, only to have it reoccur as soon as I start going again. I am a mild tempered guy, but this problem has had me cussing like a sailor and beating the nice faux wood grain steering wheel.

I found that it went into fault mode more often when I was slowing down, which I thought had to do with the brakes since that's the first of the three faults on screen. SO I had all my brake rotors and pads replaced (it was close to needing them anyway). Lately I think it occurs when I decelerate because of some kind of negative pressure in the throttle body?

This problem is what prompted me to come looking for a forum like this.

So in the last couple of months I've learned a lot. I never knew what fault codes were, or ODBII, or throttle bodies, or any of that stuff. (Thanks JF!) I am still trying to get away from the idea that I actually have a PARK BRAKE FAULT like the darn screen keeps telling me. I tend to want to trust it.

So today my Bluetooth ODBII module shows up and I eagerly plugged it into my car and fired up Android Market to download TORQUE. The following are the two codes that I was presented with (the car was not currently displaying the three-fault-salute, but it was yesterday).

I am concerned that it says there are no historic faults, despite about 200 I can count pretty recently.

Of course I am going to be poised and ready to fire this app up while it's in fault mode. I will have the module plugged in at all times now.

I've had the same problems as you're having. I sprayed WD-40 into the throttle body plug connector and hasn't happened since but it's still too early to tell. I would try that...couldn't hurt.

Tenpercenter - wrong section and you also need to look the P1 codes up for YOUR car. Disregard current meanings as they are wrong.

edit: I won't repost more about your S-Type in this forum
