RE: DSC NOT AVAILABLE
It means the DSC computer detects and error and shuts off. The source could be quite a number of things - speed sensors on the wheels. Yaw rate sensor. Bad cable connection. Bad DSC module. Even bad wheel alignment may cause the erros. The DSC module reads a whole bunch of data and analyzes it in real time. If it detects inconsistencies in any of the data it disaplay this error. For example yaw rate sensor says your car is turning left, but wheel speed and turning wheel position dont agree.
If you can pull the compiter codes off it may give you a clue where to look for the problem.
The problem codes are stored in the computer even if the message is not on display. It is tricky to diagnose if the problem is not reproducable.

RE: DSC NOT AVAILABLE
As far as I know it is not serious in terms of "your engine will not blow up". There is always the reduced safety when the DSC is off. In terms of cost I have no idea, but as it is difficult to diagnose you could end up replacing a few things before getting to the right one.
It happened to my car as well, but then it dissapears, so I'm hesitant to go to the dealer in the current state. I'll wait till it starts comming up in a more consistent way.
If you have warranty left. Definitely go to the dealer.
