There are a number of different things on offer but I doubt anyone on EBAY has obtained permission from Jaguar to sell the workshop manuals, either electronic or PDF based so the answer to Legal? is probably, no.
As to accuracy, I would stick to stuff supplied by Jaguar and the original offering from Jaguar was the JTIS application which was a bit clunky and can be a struggle to get going on anything other than Win XP but the last version had info for the first year of the X350.
They then moved the information on-line (topix.jaguar.jlrext.com) and charge a subscription to access the info.
It didn't take long for people to download the content and convert it to PDF and that is also now available on EBAY and is more up to date that the JTIS.
I would recommend reading the XJ8 FAQ on this forum though because you may find what you are looking for in there...

I use Automotive Repair, Auto Recalls, Automotive Software & TSB's - ALLDATA
I should also say that I have an E-Bay JTIS manual for my S-Type and had no problems with it.

The X350 shop manual includes lots not found in the JTIS CD. It is in pdf. format and to find stuff; you need to go to the index; find the number of what you want i.e. 72.50.03 and then go the the section like "Electrical" and do a search for that number.
Th JITS can drive you nuts until you figure out that at the bottom are a series of icons. There is one that looks like pages and that is the index.
