eEuroparts nightmare
Hi,
This is on my old gal, a black on black 2004 XJ8, owned by myself from new with 42K miles on her.
I wondered if anyone else has had a bad experience with this company or any of it's various names, "Newparts.com", " PartsContainer.com" and several others owned by Dano Ramovic.
I blew a rear passenger side air strut' and while taking a look around noticed that a tie rod and a sway bar link had disintegrated rubber grease boots ( a common problem I hear) . I googled around and this place" eEuroparts.com" was coming up time and time again with the best prices and shipping costs. So I placed an order on a Thursday for new a Arnott Air strut and 3 other items, which according to their web site were in stock and would ship next day UPS, and be with me within 4 to 5 biz days, so I figured I would be all good to go with parts in hand for a week on Saturday install by myself.
By Monday morning I had not received an order or shipping confirmation but did get an email questioning the validity of my home address and that they could not ship, well after many emails and multiple attempts to confirm that my address was good I spoke to someone and they agreed to ship that day, saying I was all set for Friday delivery.
The next day I got a shipping confirmation for 2 items out of of the four ordered. The next two days was trying to get a response to my concerns, finally on Wednesday morning I got an email confirming that these other two parts would ship out that day and be here Friday. That is great I thought, but boy was I wrong.
On Friday came home to see that UPS had placed 2 boxes in the garage ( they have the keypad #). In the large box was the air strut, it's box having been previously opened, it had greasy fingerprints on it , was missing the install kit, and one of the 4 threaded mounting studs on the top was out of alignment and the threads crossed. Also delivered in the same box was a sway bar link for the driver side, not the passenger side I picked nor the brand I paid for.
The second box was 2 day air, but was only a 6 inch cube, hmm how the hell did that get a 3 ft tie rod in there I though, of course it was not in there, just 5 lonely lug nuts, not the 6 I had ordered and of course missing that tie rod.
Well now the fun starts and it is ongoing, the company refuses to admit anything is wrong, I am told that the link that I received "is a very good brand and I should be happy with the upgrade", " but it is for the other side, it will not fit" I said, this appears irrelevant ,as does the missing 3 ft. rod that was supposedly shipped in a 6" cube with the 5 lug nuts.
The damaged air strut is probably due to UPS handling they say, asking for multiple pictures of every item and it's packing from various angles and distances , which I have taken and sent. They still refuse to admit anything is wrong and will not send me a return shipping label.
It has gotten so bad that I have had to get my Visa bank involved.
The car sits sadly on the jack stands while I await delivery all parts from Amazon Prime, it is going to cost more but at least if there is an issue they will stand by the product.
NB. today I received two more emails requesting another set of even more detailed pictures with close-ups etc. etc. I replied that I have spent enough time sending and re-sending 16 photos and over 20 emails and phone calls; would it not make sense to issue a return label and inspect items when they have possession and then refund my card?
