EGR Repair

EGR Repair
I accidentally knocked the solenoid from the EGR valve.
This may be helpful to someone.
It is not that difficult to repair or add a new solenoid to the EGR valve once you know what to do.
In the 1st pic you are looking down on the top of the circular bracket that rotates freely and moves up and down freely opening and closing the metal plug that allows the exhaust gases to recirculate.
The two open square holes are where the metal "claws" in the second pic engage.
The metal "claws" are attached to an extension that goes in and out when the solenoid is activated.
To reattach you need to pull the extension all the way out, make sure the spring is in place, and insert one metal claw in a square hole in the circular bracket, and then carefully prise the opposite claw into its respective square hole with a screw driver making sure the spring is properly situated.
It is helpful to have the metal plug in the fully open position while doing this. I had it resting on top of a wood dowel in a vice to achieve this.

I hope these pics help. 1st two from the top and the 3rd from the side showing the egr pipe leading up to the valve body.
You can see where I took out the bolts holding the solenoid onto the valve body. Absolutely should not have done that!

Thx so much! I was dumb. I remove the solenoid by the body to cleanup all, and I didn't know how re-install them. One thing. When I go to full throttle for a long time, I feel a burning gas smell. Now, I have removed the supercharger, and i've realized that the metallic pipe of EGR is broken. Is it related to that? And is it a common thing?
