Chexk your chassis grounds behind the headlights..

Could also be a voltage issue. Check to make sure your battery and charging system are in top condition.

Glad you haven't gone to ground yet.

I had this issue, it was the grounds behind the headlights. Take the nuts off and clean everything, but be careful putting them back on. Its very easy to snap the studs...

To be fair it is neither earth nor ground - the car is quite isolated from the ground/earth running on thick rubber and all. Thechnically negative battery terminal / power supply connection.

To be fairer, everyone knows what Ground or Earth means WRT to a car (for the avoidance of doubt it means the chassis), or if not they should call their nearest Authorised Repair Centre. (Center).

I would also agree with Jacuar, that the state of the battery or at least having it charged, is a really simple and first thing to try. There's plenty of threads to say a low battery can cause all sorts of errors (and not just on Jaguars). I have 7 battery chargers and 4 vehicles...Well? at least it's better than stamp collecting!

There is reported (also by me) that the indicator switch can cause headlight issues, such as going out on a dark and stormy night, due to worn wires. But that's not this issue.
This issue has 3 reported definite fixes that I can find. (all front ground studs). Water in the ECU due to blocked drains suspected never proven.
------
Not to put too fine a point on it (Users Handbook: Battery)
Caution: Disconnect the negative lead (earth terminal) first. (common parlance rules!)
To be more succinct, oh never mind.
