I don't know about the 04 xjr, but I use Jaguar OEM antifreeze (Part No. JLM209723) with my 2005 Jaguar XJ8L (see photo)

Personally, I'm not sure the differences are that significant with modern formulations. Basically, don't mix Dex-Cool with ANYTHING, but the other modern coolants, labelled "all cars," will do fine. When I overhauled my system, I filled it with Prestone concentrate mixed 50/50 with distilled water. Sure, the premix is easier, but costs nearly twice as much to get the same amount of coolant. After a year, there is NO change in the coolant's color, level, or the temperature gauge, so I'm confident that it's not eating my engine or my gaskets. I had that confidence before, but after year of seeing nothing getting into the coolant, that confidence is well-founded.

If you've ever seen the coolant in a radiator where someone used tap water, you know what I'm talking about with coolant color changed from corrosion!

Coolant WSS M97B44-D Part No. JLM 20972 is the Organic Acid Technology (OAT) type and must not be mixed with other types of coolant. Orange.

The Prestone I referenced earlier, available at any discount department store, is an OAT coolant, and is guaranteed by Prestone to safe to mix with any other coolant: "Thanks to our patented formula, Prestone is safe to mix with all coolants in all engines so there’s no need to worry about what colour is already in the system or spend time talking with a mechanic." Personally, I still think mixing it with Dex-cool is a no-no, but I've never used Dex-cool, never had a car with it, probably never will.

Hi whfooshi
excellent, couldnt ask for more , it says Jaguar on it and as far as the 50/50, its a waste of money, youre right mix the concentrated with distilled water, i checked online ,so far advanced auto shows the prestone max with 50/50 only, im gonna stop and order the concentrated, thank you!
