Default Fallen Leaper

I was aghast to find out that my leaper was only secured to the hood by stranded wire! It fell off when removing my cover this morning! Naturally, this must have happened to others, but how many? A simple fix?

Very simple fix...be glad it wasn't stolen
Mine was falling off to for awhile and so I went to Home depot. I can tell you I purchased a length of heavy gauge(but thin enough to thread through the leaper) Picture hanger wire. I also purchased a Nicopress fitting and crimped the length of metal wire down. Hope you didn't lose the spring under the hood the wire goes through(keeps the leaper flexible). Pullthe wire as taunt as possible and than crimp. Kinda tricky as they really don't leave enough space there. Good luck

Mounting order I believe: Leaper to base/ base to hood/ wire through leaper than double wire through base than hood than through spring(think theres a washer too) and into the Nicopress
