Fan Control Module + S/C intercooler

Fan Control Module + S/C intercooler
I'm trying to locate the fan control module for the V8
Can anyone tell me where it is?
Once i locate it I'm going to confirm the input from the ecu is a PWM signal using a CRO
If I cant find the module ill test from the ECU
I'm looking to get better cooling from the air/water intercooler. This includes the 010 pump which is a good upgrade. Fitting a additional reservoir (difficult) and bigger intercooler radiator (also difficult) and finally more air flow to the existing system
The problem is at low speed, once moving the Intake air temps drop quickly (after getting off the boost). The problem is you sit at the lights and see the AIT (and S/C coolant temps rise) then need to boost. So when you need it the cooling is at its worst!!!
I tried a test triggering the fan with full power while in traffic that showed a significant drop in the AIT delta, the engine coolant also dropped slightly from 95C to 93C but that's normal.
PS Freeway cruise has the coolant about 90-91C. and the IAT 1deg above ambient
A decent burst on boost on the freeway will rarely get it more than 3Deg above ambient. The problem is in traffic when the temp can get as bad as 30deg above ambient.
You might deduce Hey if your in traffic that bad you don’t need the boost!!!
Very true but want about when you go the track, you want the engine up to temp and the SC cooling at its best
Also here in Sydney we get a lot of bumper to bumper traffic to get on a freeway. Most have short on ramps, so you need to go from 0-100KPH in a short distance. IE you sit in traffic then need the boost
What I'm looking at doing is feeding this signal into a micro-controller so it can process the ECU signal and increase the fan speed when the Intake temp delta hit a trigger point and the speed is below a trigger point
To do this I need the Speed signal, Intake air Temp (IAT) and Ambient air Temp (AAT) signals. This is easy what I need to confirm (and intercept) is the fan signal is a PWM signal
the way I'll do this is feed all the signals into the micro-controller. I will use the IAT and AAT to calculate the Delta of for the supercharger cooling and feed a signal to the fan control module to control (increase) the fan speed
So what I need to do (and can do fairly easily) is
1. Calculate the AIT delta
2. Capture the ECU fan signal and store as a value and output to the fan module (same signal as the ECU sends)
3. Where the Delta rises above a set point (say 5 degC) and the speed is below a set point (say 25KPH) change the signal to the fan module increasing the fan speed to 100%
So if anybody can help locating the fan control module that will hep a lot
PS I cant find it JTIS or JEPC either!!!
Cheers
