Fault Code reader for an XJ6

I've been reading through the thread in the General Tech Help section relating to fault code readers and am somewhat confused.
I have an X350 XJ6 3.0 petrol and am looking for a fault code reader that will show codes behind such messages as "Air Suspension Fault" as well as "DSC not Available" and "ABS Fault" all of which I have had at one time or other.
I read somewhere that the some readers only read engine and drivetrain codes whereas others cover this plus the other areas where the DSC Fault originates.
I know it's somewhat down to preference but can someone suggest a particular code reader I can purchase (preferably in the UK)?
I'm not fussed whether it's a handheld or a laptop based system, either would be fine.
Thanks in advance,
Jim

The sticky thread on OBDII scanners in the General Tech Help section is very informative. IMO, if you want a scanner that goes beyond engine and drivetrain and if you are ready to put the price for it, the Autoenginuity seems to me a must. Rather expensive but I think it can be amortized quite quickly, avoiding a number of costly visits to the dealer and even to your indy. I think I will purchase one myself and take the time to go through its functionalities to best exploit it. Other scanners can be acquired for much cheaper but it seems that you may fall short of the power of the Autoenginuity.
