Default Fault Flashes from pasenger air bag

Hi All,
I have a 2004 4.2 ltr S Type V8 SE which I have owned for 3 years and been very pleased with, it has only done 29,000 miles ( being an import from Japan) . I now get the permanent pasenger air bag fault showing.
Together with this I have the small blue light flashing, it flashes 4 times and then goes of for a shortish time and then flashes four more times again, this four flashes and off for a short time continues permanently.
I have seen some tables showing different flash sequencies that indicate what the fault might be , but I haven't seen any thing indicating what just 4 repeated flashes mean. Can any one point me in the right direction ?

You have posted in the wrong forum, this is the forum for the XJ X350. Although similar in many ways, you might get more help in the correct forum.

Best regards,

Thomas

Hi DennisJohn,

OK, understood :-)

Do you have the possibility of reading DTCs? As motorcarman already indicates, it might give you more information.

Best regards,

Thomas

Default Replace the sensor ?

HI motorcarman & Thomas,
Thank you very much for your replies, motorcarman for identifing my flash code 44 fault and with quick reference diagnostic guide showing it to be a Passenger side impact sensor -27.
Yes Thomas as you can see I was able to print out the diagnostic guide, a very useful reference.
With reference to the impact sensor, I am sure that my car has never received any side impact so suspecting the sensor or related connections could any one point me in that direction of findind it.?
and -27 ?
Is it worth getting some one to 0DB scan my car and tryi to reset the fault ?
Thanks again for both of your help.

That's what I meant when asking whether you have the possibility of reading DTCs, not whether you were able to print the diagnostic quide.

Sorry if I wasn't clear.

And yes, for me that would always be the first thing to do, doing an OBD scan of the car.

Best regards,

Thomas
