The Flasher strikes again
Sorry to dredge up this old topic again but I wonder if anyone got to the bottom of the annoying headlight flashing phenomenon. After many months of abstinence the old girl put on a show today just to keep me on my toes. Today was dry, bright and I was traveling at normal speed. It can also happen when raining, snowing moving, stopped and even once as I was getting out of the car with engine stopped and ignition switched off. Where the £&%% does it get a feed from?
I don't suspect the sensor or the switch because the lights flicker off and on rapidly but looking at the wiring diagram it would seem that the front electronic module controls the lights so maybe that's where the fault might lie.
Any theories or thoughts most welcome
Pete

The lighting switch on the steering binnacle would be my main suspect. I noticed during the day that the sat-nav screen would flicker to "Night". At night the lights would occasionally flicker, and then one night, they totally went off for about 3 seconds on a dark, moonless, night on a twisty road. Not good !!
A new binnacle switch cured it.
