I am told that you can replace the airbags. Is this true and if so what's the approx. cost?

Hi supvharris,

Welcome to the forum!

To my knowledge, no one has discovered a source of DIY air bladders for rebuilding the X350 air shocks. Arnott Industries claims to be using Goodyear bladders in their rebuilds, but I have not yet learned if Goodyear will sell these bladders to individual owners, or that the process of replacement can be handled by the average home mechanic. If you're able to learn anything about it please let the rest of us know!

Cheers,

Don

Default o-rings size and type

Hello to all,

I also recently have been having issues with my front end suspension, after reading this post I did the soapy water test on the top part of the air0-line fitting and saw some bubbles around the fitting.

My question is where can I find them ( the O-rings ) , the sizes needed? I'd really appreciate all info for the o-ring replacement.

thanx.
enjoy your day

Because of this post, I think I just saved $400 plus labor! I decided to closely inspect the air line fitting O rings. They looked OK but brittle. I bought an O ring assortment at PEP BOYS this afternoon and replaced both air line O rings. I then soap tested the fittings. No leaks from either air line but the fitting on the passenger side showed bubbles at the brass fitting the line screws into on the strut itself. I removed the fitting and replaced its O ring then re soap tested. NO LEAKS from either shock or fittings! We will know tomorrow but its got to be better or fixed.

Well... this morning I fired it up and the front suspension raised, meaning it lost air. The CATS fault message only stayed on for 5 blocks. So its better. It appears I have one ARNOTT and one original strut on the front. I'm told I'll get this message because the AROTT's can't monitor ECATS. But that has nothing to do with it dropping overnight does it? It drops evenly so it seems both struts loose air? Any harm with disconnecting the ECATS computer behind the rear seat till I get another strut? 101,000 miles. Should I get another ARNOTT to match?

You should source a replacement strut that has the ECATS capability (unless you want to not have CATS capability. If interested I have a spare original front air strut. You can PM me if interested...

As mentioned before on another post, I'll get the fault code(s) diagnosed before I do anything. It seems I have 2 issues.. one, the front struts loose air overnight. 2... the CATS fault light. It seems odd that the only time I get a CATS fault is when I restart first time in the morning and the car raises about 4 inches?

Smile Front air suspension

Grantorino.
Mine did exactly that!
Bought another arnott unit and have been perfect for a couple years now.
Cold in Colorado too.
Easy fix following directions and utube video.
Good luck.

I got my car back today with the new front Arnott air springs installed. I had a LOT of clunking before, but now it's all gone. The ride is back to "airplane mode"...
