my 04 XJR is in bad need of new balljoints and control arms, well pretty much every bushing in the front looks like theyre 80 years old, every time i hit uneven pavement it shakes rattles and rolls lol Question is: What parts are interchangeable with the Ford Thunderbird and Lincoln LS? ive read that some are with the S Type but idk if thats the same for the XJ. The upper Wishbone ball joint pieces appear to be identical, with the difference being the XJR parts are $400 for a set and the Lincoln are $70. Has anyone used these parts or do you think that would work?

The answers to your questions have been reported in the forum several times if you want to spend some time searching, but it may be faster and easier to simply go to RockAuto.com and search the parts for your XJR and compare them to the parts for the LS and T'bird. This will give you a good idea of the parts that are interchangeable.

You can also compare the parts for the XJR and XJ8 at jaguarmerriamparts.com in case the part listings at RockAuto are incomplete (and they sometimes are).

A call to your local junk yard may work. They have software that tells you all the models and years a specific part will fit. I actually have a program called Hollander that does this but I don't have it installed here.
