Default Frost Blue color..whats the boards opinion?

Still looking for my first jag... There's a local one.. 2008 xj8 (swb) Frost Blue. I took it for a test drive last week and it was a nice car 1 owner 70k plus miles. I noticed it was riding low, the dealer called today say they sent the car to the local Jag dealer to have the front 2 shocks replaced. ($2600.00), and was wondering if Im still interested in it.

Anyways to my question... Whats the boards opinion about the Frost Blue color? I see Black, Blue Red and silver mentioned a lot... Is the Frost Blue a color to stay away from? Does it hurt the resale value(or harder to sell it)

something like this..

not my cup of tea...but that's me. It's an extroverted car...chrome rims...but what do you think, you'd be driving it.

Is it an XJR? or do the 358's all have the mesh grill?

It's not an XJR. Just a regular swb XJ8.

Here the link to the car. The above video was just an example of what the color looks like.

Hmmm, that sure doesn't look like the same color...one is wrong? it looks almost ice white/baby blue in the link you posted.
I wonder if they just look different in direct sunlight?

swb, I think they are all long wheel base (only made one wheel base at that point I think, 2004 had a swb).

I like the car, price seems pretty high; I'll assume they're being very flexible.

The price was flexible til they just put 2600 into a new pair of front air shocks. The Xj8 is still at the jag dealership waiting for the shocks to get installed .

That color will be hard to sell when you want to move on. I would steer clear of this one. If it had the white interior, they were going to lower the price significantly and I planned on keeping it for a LONG time I may reconsider.

So the dealer had the car for sale knowing it had problems and decided to get it repaired AFTER you identified it? Wow, that says a lot about this dealership.

If I was still in the market for an XJ, that would be my second choice in an exterior color. My first choice would have been Indigo Blue. The interior color works really well for me. My car has the black interior which is OK, but I would have preferred the Dove interior. However, beggars can't be choosers.

The former owner most likely traded it in at least because of the air suspension issue. If it were me, I would continue looking as there are far better values out there.

My personal preference for Jaguars are dark colors, but that's the thing...

...it's just my preference.

You should go for your preference regardless of our views or the resale implications (unless you are buying the car only to shift soon).

The only reason to purchase one of these cars is to love the entire experience, and if you have any doubts about the color -- just move on. If you love the color, and only if it is your first choice, then you should consider it at the right price.

Either color looks good. I'd buy either one of them if I could, but not now. Just depends on the rest of the car if all else is good with it.

It's very similar to the colour of my previous car, a Rover 75. These were never exported to the USA. The colour of mine was called "Wedgwood Blue"

If the car is right (serviced and good condition), never mind the colour !

Your S-Type seems real similar to the one I had. Mine was a 2005 S-Type 3.0 with Zircon Blue exterior and Bone interior. When I bought in 2009, I told the dealer, no black, silver or white cars. He turned really pale. Luckily for him, he had the Zircon S-Type in stock. My current XJ which is Quartz is the only non-blue Jag I've owned.

I liked the zircon blue and ivory interior, made everthing lighter. Our Nissan has the black cloth interior which I'm not too fond...but...

gt1000,

Look, there have been 512 people who have read this post, so you can expect 512 different opinions. If you like the color, fine. If you like the price, again fine. If your satisfied with the price the dealer says will be the cost of replacing the air shocks up front, another fine--if they intend to charge you and your ok with that (I wouldn't be), then chalk up another fine.
Do you get my drift? If not, what I'm trying to instill in you is the purchase of this car, or any other is; It's your decision. Your the one that will live with it.
Your not thinking of buying just anyone's used car, your thinking about buying a Jaguar. A car that cost close to 100,000 dollars new. So friend, my advice is to make your own decisions, your the one who will live with it.
