Default Fuel level indicating issue and car dying after 10 mins of driving

So fuel pump went out on the jag and replaced fuel pump but now the fuel leveling indicator doesn’t work anymore and DTE range is stuck at 260mi-200mi and resets itself after cycling engine once under 200mi and have no idea what that could be and now today my car died on me at a stop and didn’t wanna start back up as if it were being drowned with something other than gas. So i pull over into a parking lot and i notice some smoke coming from the engine but after a closer inspection it’s steam! And it was coming from this thing here below. can anyone help i don’t want to scrap the car but I’m almost there

You are looking at the E G R valve, look a little closer for a leaking hose.
Looking closer your hoses could do with replacing,as well as better clamps.
I prefer the stock spring types, stay tight on plastic, without breaking it.
P I A to remove sometimes, just an acquired preference for me.

Look at the thermostat housing hose connections, the cheap housing & thermostat may need replaced.
If so the water pump, belt, tensioner, with idler bearing, may need replaced.
Both of mine required these, as well as replacing other worn parts.
To bring things back to acceptable running condition, takes time and money.
Keep at it, ask lots of questions, you will have a beautiful car when you get caught up.
Do you have a code reader that does our cars?
To find why it does not run is another matter

Well a jaguar type reader is a must, the i930 by icarsoft is a good inexpensive reader.
There are others that cost, & do more, this one is a good starting point.
Mine was on sale for a hundred dollars, reads and clears the codes.
