Which Fuse to use in the engine compartment fuse box?
Hi All,
need some advice, so I have some round halo DRL Leds, which I have tapped into the side marker/parking lights on the front e.g. the 5w 501 bulbs, no problems what so ever, all working fine.
Then I added more LEDs to light up the bottom and main grill, however this time all the lights flash like a strobe feature, every 3-4 seconds. As soon as I disconnect the grill lights, everything is ok.
So looked around the internet for a solution, found a module box to sort out the issue, now the only problem I now have is I need a constant live so thinking about a fuse location in the engine bay, as the battery is in the boot, negative ground I have sorted, but the bit is trying to find an ACC line so thinking again within the fuse box, but don't have any idea which one is activated through the ignition key.
So I need some help with fuse numbers that I can tap into. Please help anyone.
hi sorry about late reply details are as follows:-
This pic shows the day time running lights on which I have fitted in the top and lower grilles these are Soft Guide Led Strip Lights. The harness that I used is the following found on eBay, just type the following in the search field:-
New Error Free Multifunction Auto DRL Relay Harness DRL DC 12V Controller On/Off
The Wiring harness is simply to connect, but what I did use is piggy back fuse holders that you can get from halfords or online.
This pic shows that Fuse No.21 is used for a permanent live and Fuse No.8 is used as an ignition live, the earth connection is just behind the headlamp assembly.
I also decided to put some Halo ring lights around the normal light fixtures and tapped into the side marker lights on the headlamps. Results are below.
