Default Gaskets & O Rings - Comin Out of The Valley

2004 XJR

Getting ready to order gaskets and O rings. Any words from the wise?

Inclined to reuse the 2 O rings in the thermostat housing after I soak them in silicon lubricant. If, in the unlikely event they should leak, they are reasonably accessible.

Thanks and best,

Steve S.

Hi Steve,
The thermostat housing seals are not O rings. The new ones are about 5mm wide. The housing compresses the seals into the slots. I'd replace them. They are not the most expensive seals, but if they fail, it could be expensive.

Default Where To Buy?

I can't find a place that sells more than the Intake Manifold Seal & maybe one other gasket. There is a site called partsgeek.com that has everything, but send from multiple locations taking from days to weeks. Other than a dealer is there a store that would have all?

Thanks and best,

Steve S.

FCP Euro for 6 parts; Harper Jag for 1. Should all be here by June 7th.

Now to get the hoses ordered. If memory serves, it was hoses I first sought to replace? Wouldn't swear to it since it has been so long!

Hi Steve,

I think that the odissey started with the aim of replacing the valley hose... as they say, "been there, done that"!

Best regards,

Thomas
