Default Gearbox Haemorrhage

I just returned from a run and after about 20 minutes I noticed quite a lot for pink fluid under the front of the car, I am assuming it is gearbox fluid. I am guessing about a cup full. I have the CD of the workshop manual but i find it is not user friendly at all in respect to finding just what you need. There is no index to search, in my case just under the general heading of POWER TRAIN. But I cannot find if there is a way to check the level. HELP.

Guessing the plastic pan filter, or the sleeve around the electrical connection, is leaking.
Looks way worse than it is, more than likely, something that you can do yourself.
Lots of videos out there showing how.
Car jacked up level running, in park .
Remove the 8 mm allen head bolt, on the passenger side, up by the exhaust pipe.
When fluid is dripping out, at the proper temperature, after filling put the plug back in.
This is just to get the level right.
Watch the videos for instructions how to repair your leak.
Good Luck

PAS fluid? Coolant? Gearbox? Windscreen washer fluid?

All those fluids CAN be pink.

Let the guessing begin.

Thank you Wingrider and motorcarman, It looks like it is indeed engine coolant as the fluid on the floor dissolves into water not sitting on the top like oil would. The water level in the top reservoir is over the top indicator so I guess it is just overfull. It is strange that it should just happen now as it was serviced about 6 weeks ago and I have done much longer runs than yesterday but not seen the leak before. I had no overheating alarms showing. Yesterday was not hot at all and I didn't drive the car any differently than normal. ( I drive like an old man, though I am only 79 and looking forward to middle age, as I have heard it is quite good). So what is going on?
I am very thankful that it is not the gearbox fluid as I thought I may have caused it by fitting my new home made gear stick knob.

Hi Bob,

That is great news that it is coolant rather than one of the alternatives!
I would suggest checking around the reservoir/expansion tank for a leak. Good luck!

Need to suck out the excess coolant from the reservoir. Cold it should cover the lower level "flag" indicator, but not cover the top one.
