Default Glove Box Fix That Works!

I have been looking at posts here, looking for a PROVEN glove box delamination repair...Look no further here it is! I have been looking on ebay for six months for a good used glove box in my color, and noticed just about my or any other color box had the delamination from the glue as well..Sooo I said screw that I'll figure out a repair myself....Here is what I did. First off I found it much easier to remove the 6 torx bolts on the bottom hinge and remove the drop cable, and repair it on a table in a heated environment...The night before I clamped the lid down to the box with clamps and used paint sticks for protection so not to mark the vinyl...Once that is done the next day you can actually see where the old glue is pulling and is trying to restick...You will see old stringy glue...The key to this fix is to get the epoxy deep into the lid where you see the old glue adhesion... Next I masked off the front and back of the box got my paint sticks ready. The clamps are from Harbor Freight priced at .99 to 1.49 each depending on size...I found the slow dry JB Weld tensile strength to be the best. After a generous amount of 3M painters tape, a plastic knive, paint sticks, plastic shot glass, and newspaper I was ready to rock! I mixed the epoxy 50/50 about 2 tablespoons. Using a paint stick to open up the gap between the lid and facia, I applied the epoxy deep into the lid where the old glue was. After that I started attaching the clamps with the paint sticks for protection and uniform pressure...Waited 24 hours and removed the clamps and tape and reinstalled the glove box...Couldn't wait to close it and see! Well it looks like new! Had a couple of curls on the bottom 2 corners and got them at the same time!

Just wanted to support the use of JB weld, maybe overkill, but worked for me too. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-flush-150009/
