Default Good time to sale an XJR ?

Now that i work from home full-time and have more vehicles than parking spots, I'm wondering if now is a good time to list the Jag? The used market seems toward the high end and with this being a limited model run, i'm curious as to what others think or have recent experience selling an XJ.

I don't need to sale and enjoy the car, but rarely drive it. Plus, we can use the 1 carport for another car driven much more.

My expectation is that the value is only going to increase going forward. I used to have several Range Rover classics and one P38. Their value was approaching the bottom (around 2010 - 11). I was preparing to live in Uganda and Germany for the next eight years so I had to find new homes for them. Unfortunately, I couldn't give them away at the time so decided to donate 2 and cut one up for recycling. Today they have incredible value and two of those classics would be among the rarest examples and command a premium price. Such is the case with a niche market comprising small production runs. Also, as supply dwindles, demand will increase and every month another one lands in my local salvage yard.

I think we just saw the bottom of the x350/x358 market, but I am speculating.

All this being said, if you don't have the space for it, and the time to drive it and maintain it routinely, issues will begin to arise and accumulate as it sits. These will have a severe negative impact on the cost of ownership or resale value, so all of these factors must be considered!

It's definitely a seller's market these days so to answer your question, yes.

Yes. Try and follow the sales of others where you can find them, but if you have a sorted and clean example that's been well taken care of and even documented, this is probably the time to let go. All the more true for XJRs and Super V8s, the latter of which have been climbing in the past few months (from when I was looking and got mine- it'd go for more now a few months later). Maybe VDPs too, but it seems that regular XJ8s have stayed pretty flat (maybe vs. falling further). I also considered VDP and XJ8-L models in my search last fall.

Sleep on it (for at least a couple weeks) to be sure, and submit it to CarsAndBids.com at no reserve would be my recommendation.

Go to Cars & Bids. They sell many cars on this auction web site. You can also look at the history of all the Jaguar's they have sold, and get an idea of what your car may sell for. You can also look at those listings that sold, and get a good idea on how to set up you car with pictures, and information to help it sell better. Hope this helps.
