Default for the guys with aftermarket exhuast

i bought my 04 xj8 used earlier this year. from the things ive been hearing online is that these cars exhuast are pretty quiet. mine sounds throaty and when you get on it she purrs. plus while changing my oil i noticed stainless steel exhuast pipes. i investigated further and didnt notice and markings on the mufflers or resonators but you guys have any insight for me on this. stuff looks stock but stainless pipes and sound got me thinking.

Out of all of the XJR's I have owned they have been very quiet with the slight whine of the supercharger. For me that is one of the highlights (part of being old I guess)

Check the exhaust tip and see if there is any logo on them. Also compare the size of the tips with a known stock car. How many mufflers/resonators are on your car?

AFAIK Jaguar has fitted stainless steel exhaust systems for some years now. Trouble is the bracket fittings tend not to be stainless, it is normally only the pipes, so eventually, the things fall off as the bracket fittings rust through !!

Mind you this can take 10 years, depending on where you live - salt on roads in winter etc
